The exuberant German was in fine form in front of the media as he bathed in the glory of his first major Cup final success since 2012.
Beforehand, the 51-year-old had lost six finals in a row, dating back to his time at Borussia Dortmund.
The 2-0 victory over Tottenham on Saturday night put an emphatic end to that run, and Klopp did mind telling his critics of that fact, which coincided with Liverpool’s sixth European Cup win.
Speaking with Viasport Fotbal after the game, the grinning tactician was in jovial mood and said: “There’s always a couple of people who can tell you: ‘Yeah, but you didn’t win.’”
Klopp then found his inner Salt-N-Pepa and belted out their 1991 hit ‘Let’s Talk About Sex’ – with a twist.
“So now, let’s talk about six, baby,” he began to sing, before really hitting his stride.
“Let’s talk about you and me. Let’s talk about all the good things and the bad things that may be. Let’s talk about six.”
The squad will return to Merseyside on Sunday and ensue on an open-top bus parade around the city to celebrate their sixth European Cup triumph.
Klopp was in the mood for partying as soon as the final whistle blew, though, and explained as much to BT Sport’s Des Kelly, who observed that the winning manager is usually soaked in beer after Cup finals.
“Normally 20 minutes after the game I am half p****d,” joked Klopp, who then scanned the surrounding area for alcoholic delicacies. “But now I have only had water!
“I am so happy for the boys all these people, and my family.
“They suffer for me, they deserve it more than anybody.
